FRENCH (dp) - The presence of German scooter built by the French manufacturer Maturin nicknamed it fills a niche that exists between Vespa and Lambreta in the era of Mod revival generation in the UK.
In the 70s, where the music genre and subculture Mod rampant in the wilds of Britain, the motorcycle became a very popular type of scooter. In the period ranging from the skinheads to the grip of punk adherents often gush branded Vespa and Lambretta scooters. But there is one more brand that is almost extinct and had been forgotten. So, give thanks to those members who managed to find Maturin Southside's at an auction event in France some time ago.
This motor is a version of DKW Hobby Scooter built by the State of origin weapons maker named Croissant Manufacture de Machines Haut-Rhin or familiarly called Maturin. They began building a Hobby Scooter since 1956 by using multiple components of local and introduced to the audience as Maturin MR75 in Europe and Concord in the UK.
When DKW stop the production of Hobby, Maturin determined to continue the process of manufacture to the sale of this scooter. The results were astounding! In 1957, Maturin successfully ranked third in the back of Lambretta and Vespa scooter sales in the rows of the best in Europe.
